Passport Services
The Embassy of India, Vientiane provides services related to issue of new Passport for minors and re-issue of Passport for others. Passport issued to a minor is valid only for five years. Depending on requirement, Normal size (36 pages) or Jumbo size (60 pages) Passport is issued. Fees for these two passport types vary. New Passport has to be made in case of change in personal particulars. Passport application form can be registered online via the following link https://mportal.passportindia.gov.in/mission/ . It is mandatory for passport applicants to upload ICAO compliant photograph and signature along with requisite documents.

Following Services are offered by the Embassy under the Head Passports :
- New Passport for minors
- Re-issue of Passport
- Surrender of Indian Passport
- Emergency Certificate
- Police Clearance Certificate
(a) Requirements for passport for minors [child below 18 years of age]:
- Prescribed Application Form (print-out of the registered application form with the photograph, signature and requisite documents already uploaded)
- 2 recent passport size photographs
- Birth certificate in original along with a copy
- Original Passports of parents along with copies
- Proof of stay
- An affidavit signed by both parents that they have not applied for any other nationality for the child
- Consular Officer may ask for more documents if needed.
(NOTE: This passport will be valid for five years.)
(b) Requirements for re-issue of passports:
- Prescribed Application Form (print-out of the registered application form with the photograph, signature and requisite documents already uploaded)
- 2 passport-sized recent photographs
- Original passport
- Copy of Lao Identity Card, Work Permit and Stay Permit
- Letter of Employment on Company letterhead
- Consular Officer may ask for more documents if needed.
